I had a crusted haddock sitting in a corn-bacon chowder for lunch

Nova Scoctia? The menu reminds me I need to book a trip to Maine over the summer.

To me, clam chowder means Manhattan clam chowder thanks to my going to the Crab Cooker in Newport Beach, CA since the 1960s:
The same guy that opened this place in the early ‘50s still works there, although he has turned over day-to-day stuff to his SIL.
I don’t think the interior has changed in the 45+ years I’ve been going there
After In N Out Burger, this is one of the places I must go to whenever I find myself back in SoCal. Bacon-wrapped scallops, potatoes and tomatoes, a loaf of fisherman’s bread and a big cup of clam chowder - that’s what I want.
At least I can still get a little taste of this soup, sort of, although I reluctantly have to go to Walmart to get it:
A dash of hot sauce and some tomato chunks and it gets close, but it’s not the same...

HTF can you have a halibut burger? Wouldn’t that just be a halibut sandwich? I mean, ‘Burger’ denotes ‘hamburger’, right?

I’ve always thought burger was indicative of the way it was presented, otherwise chicken burgers and salmon burgers would also just be ‘blank’ sandwiches. But I’m not a burger expert, so who knows

I just can’t accept a burger that isn’t actually a burger...

Fair enough, I am a huge fan of proper beef burgers. I just try to eat for the area. At home, there’s a good mix of good fish and good other meats. Lots of amazing beef. But right on the water, in a fishing town in a joint that specializes in seafood, I’ve gotta have fish.

Dude, I am right there with ya! I love a good fish sandwich as much as the next guy!
